Unfortunately I am now getting the dreaded TPMS failure on my 2010 V12V due to failed sensor batteries.
It appears I have the following options -
1/ By-pass the system (which does not always appear to be successful)
2/ Replace the sensor batteries (does not appear to be a straight forward job)
3/ Buy replacement sensors (expensive)
Option 1 - "Redpants" did appear to sell a bypass wiring harness that worked but these are stated now to be out of stock.
Option 2 - Appears to be a tricky operation and relies on a programming tool that may no longer be available
Option 3 - Set of 4 sensors £696.38 + p&p from Aston Martin Bits and I understand they will need to be re-programmed at an AM dealer. My other problem with this solution is - how old are these "new" sensors, are the batteries already 7 years old?
What do the majority of AM owners do when faced with this problem?

Having just reprogrammed my 2008 Aston Martin Vantage Smartire TPMS system to accept Autel sensors I thought I'd start a separate post to let everyone know that this is a simple process as long as you have the Autel TS508 hand held programming device and Autel MX sensors. These must be bought from a bonafide distributor such as Euro Car Parts as there are an awful lot of counterfeit ones on eBay etc. The TS508 is expensive tool at £479.99 and at the moment comes with four metal valve sensors and four rubber ones.
However for the price of a drink I'm happy to program your Autel MX sensors.
The procedure is very simple and straightforward as long as you have the serial number off your old Smartire Sensors, which can be read off the old sensors once they have been removed from the wheel.
