I’ve now had third puncture in 6k miles in F10 M5 running MPSS while driving usual roads I do.
Both wheels punctured had around 2mm above legal limit tread.

Are MPSS just too soft/less durable than say Conti M3 I ran in Z4M for 80k and had one puncture? I know they help M5 traction etc.

Or is lesson to change MPSS at around 1/2 wear or I’m just in a rut of bad luck.

I had a set fitted* for 40k miles (from new to 1.6mm tread) and never had a puncture so my experience would suggest you’ve just been unlucky.

*albeit to a completely different car.

ETA: do you check your pressures regularly?

I've got a set on my OEM 19s (E46 M3), they've done about 10k miles including an Alpine road trip, trackday at Cadwell and a good few laps of the Ring. Still on 4-4.5mm.

Car gets driven properly given the opportunity...

I discovered one had a nail in (but had not lost any pressure), repaired, which then did 150mph on the Autobahn. No issues!

I’ve done 20K miles on my MSS’s.

One puncture.

The rears need changing soon. There’s a bit left on them but winters coming.

I’ve found them to be a very good tyre. Need to concentrate in the winter though but I’ve got semi slicks on my other car and still drive that in the winter.

Had 1 puncture from a nail which was repairable.

MPSS wear very well given how much power and weight they have to handle, doubt tyre brand is going to make much difference if you stand on a nail anyway so probably you've just had bad luck unfortunately.

Rear P-Zeros lasted 13k miles / MPSS 26k so far - probably another 3-5k left and will swap before winter sets in fully
Front P-Zeros lasted 24k miles / MPSS 15k so far - wearing well and will make at least 25k

MPSS were a massive improvement in terms of grip, noisy on concrete motorway sections, not sure if this is just the MPSS or that they are so wide, will replace with more of same or newer MPS4S though can't see 295/30 20" in BMW specific version yet.

Well, I’ll see this month out then swap to the winter set (sitting in BMW ... previous owner sold me pristine OEM set with 1mm wear for £1000 😀). Come spring I’ll renew rears with fresh rubber, fronts are only 6 weeks old so it’ll be MPSS anyway.... need to avoid lumps of metal on road...

Sounds like a good plan, winter tyres sound good and something I've been tempted by - wide summer tyres feel like super slicks on snow/ice and it can be a bit of a brown trouser experience
