Hello -

I wouldn’t mind upgrading my current Becker Mexico head unit and Silverstone CD changer to a DAB unit or even a unit that can play MP3s.

I read somewhere on here that the Maserati/Becker ISO would mean problems with installing any other make. Is this correct, or can any unit be used?

Can anyone recommend any DAB or MP3 headunits that will work with minimum fuss in the car?

Cheers,

Michael

I upgraded my unit and decided to stay with Becker - to keep things simple and also to keep the original look of the dash. Some of the other aftermarket makes look a bit too flash in my view. I went for a Mexico Pro (just over £300 on the Internet) which plays CD's off the bootchanger but also has a slot behind the panel where you can play an MP3 burned disk (up to 12 hours of music on one disk in that format I think).

At the time I bought mine (early Feb) the dealers were saying that Becker were discontinuing the Mexico/Monza MP3 players and moving over to units with sat nav on as well - much more expensive.

I am also about to have my ipod fitted using a Dension Ice Link. I am told this is compatible with any Becker Head unit that can run the bootchanger but you have to have the bootchanger disconnected (as it uses the bootchanger input). Planning to have the ipod hidden away in the centre tunnel if possible. Booked in for fitting next week so will let you know how I get on with that if you are interested.
