Optical Prescription Issues.

I'm mid 40s and reasonably short sighted (about -4.25 in each eye) with astigmatism and a former contact lens wearer. I stopped as I suffer from dry eyes and spend all day staring at monitors..

Recently had a sight test (2 years since the last) and, as I suspected, my left eye has worsened a little.

However, having real issues getting this sorted - first set of glasses weren't any better, so they retested me and altered the prescription. New glasses were even worse, making me feel almost drunk..

They now say there's a problem with the vertical pupillary alignment so are remaking the lenses again. Sounds reasonable, but my right vision was okay with them. The left has stronger astigmatism, so perhaps it's more susceptible to alignment problem?.

So far, all the retests and reworking had been free of charge, but I'm starting to wonder if should I persevere with this optician, or give up and have a retest elsewhere.

I've not had problems like this in 30 years of lenses/glasses wearing, so am slight concerned whether it's actually my eye varying a lot from day to day..
