PCM Navigation module

Hi
Has anyone else had problems with their Nav module. I have a 2016 Macan S with (apparently) up to date PCM and the data base seems inaccurate or not complete. Just come back from long trip through France and the system did not "realise" that the Millau bridge was open and then tried to route me off other bits of the autoroute around Montpelier saying road closed. I have got to the point where I do not trust it and have to have a back up running on my phone. Is this just a data-base error or something more fundamentally wrong with the system? Is there a work around? Can I install other navigation software in its place? Help and advice appreciated.
