saw a Griffith with 7" headlights at Neil Garners on Saturday, blue one, looked good and having just driven mine in the dark I'm getting interested!

Done a bit of "searching" but so far everything leads to the Sportmotive kit but £450 is a little bit more than I had in mind for a pair of headlights.

Couple of questions if anyone can help..........

Are the new fibreglass mouldings supplied in the kit necessary, can the existing be modified?

Do they use a "standard" bowl and adjuster like these (S Series, Mini, Land Rover etc. etc.) or is space tight and something special required?

I fitted these 2 years ago. The new pods are definitely needed in order to house the bigger lights. They are a definite improvement and using H4 bulbs in them gives you an extra main beam source in addition to the original grill mounted main beams.

Yep they are pants. 10 years ago when I realised I put in Osram 80% whiter, still happy with them.

Could have been mine, navy blue with spiders???

The 7” headlamps are obviously better but still have limited side/tunnel vision meaning they don’t illuminate the pavement like modern projector lamps. Upgrading the wiring made a noticeable difference with standard bulb but I eventually installed Xenon HIDs which have a more precise dip beam (according to the MOT man) but still have limited tunnel vision.

If night driving is your priority it might be worth investigating Jeboa headlamp conversion.

Jeboa, Sorry I pinched your picture from another thread but I do like the idea of your headlamps.

A good point, night driving is not really a priority, but the 7" do look good! They fill the hole so but better, standard lamps look a bit "lost" in there.

Each to their own but the Jeboa option isn't doing it for me smile
