Hi - wonder if anyone can help.

I have a Panasonic Viera TV and when I switch it on at the TV, it says
'No DVB service found. Please check aerial or local DVB service availability. Press OK to start Auto Setup.'

I then press the 'input AV' button on the TV's remote control and I get the TV screen up and working. I then switch to the TiVo remote control to access the TV stations. I have Cable TV and don't have an aerial.

This morning, the remote seems to be dead. I changed the batteries and still no response. ( No hint of a red light flashing when I press it ).

Is there a way to get the TV screen to come on via a manual button? I'm guessing I need to replace the TV remote - how often do remotes stop working?

Upon further investigation, one of the battery terminals had signs of corrosion - so after I'd cleaned the terminals up with an old toothbrush, the remote worked again.
Would still like to know how to get the TV on manually if the remote packs up again. smile

Might be worth fiddling around in the menus to set the auto channel power on to be AV.

I don't need the TV remote for any of my Panasonic tellies - turn on Sky/Firestick/whatever, and the telly auto powers on and switches to that input.

It needs the device sending the signal to send it over hdmi but if you can setup that way you'll avoid the need for a telly remote in the situation you describe.

Search for hotel mode. You can then set what input it defaults to. Most Panasonic’s have this option but you wil need to google it.

Do any of your other boxes have a learning remote you can program to control your TV?

If it's a smart TV like my Panasonic Viera plasma you can use the Remote2 app on your phone to control it via wifi.

I'd be going here for the instruction manual... http://www.panasonic.eu/downloads/en_GB/popup.html

I picked up a replacement remote for my Panasonic telly for around £5 on ebay
Alternatively, if you're not in a hurry the Chinese clones are about £2-3
