Calling ICT/computer suppliers
Discussion
The school I work for needs to replace its computers over the next few months/to two years, but needs to spread the cost as part of a rolling programme.
Things are chugging under Windows 10 and we need some upgrades. What we need is below - feel free to get in touch if you can supply a good discount on a decent number of machines (say, 50 in the first batch, but we'll need 150 ish altogether):
decent ish i3/i5 cpu
8gb RAM (essential)
small ish tower/housing
120gb SSD (essential)
DVDRW
We already have a Windows/Office site licenses, etc.

Personally I would look at an i7 chip, definitely not i3 they are really getting on a bit
When you up the spec on machines the weakest component becomes the bottleneck.
Ive used Tier1 as a supplier of reconditioned machines in past, they provided HP, i7, SSD, 16GB Ram , Windows10pro for under £500 a unit

I'm not sure without requirements it's possible to gauge which CPU would be most suitable. Also, i3 / i5 / i7 has nothing to do with the chips 'age'. Intel are releasing new i3's all the time, same with i5 / i7. Suspect you'll find some of the new i3's are better than some of the oldest i5's.
Op, I would also contact Dell - they're often good with bulk orders
