A very daft newbie question I'm sure but when lifting the front and/or rear of the car to place on stands where do you jack from? The Caterham handbook gives four locations but these seem to be positions where you'd want the stands.

I've been told the offset towing hooks can be used (this I'm sure would lift both sides at the front but may not at the rear), what about the diff?

At the back, right under the A frame in the middle. You will likely need a low jack for this, or alternatively roll the car onto a couple of wooden planks on one side to raise it a few cms before jacking.

For the front I jack under the lower wishbone, close in to the body for one side, then under the middle cross section to get the other stand underneath.
