I just saw the headline that he had suffered a heart attack. Sad indeed - one of my favourite rockers.

Maybe he shouldn't have called his band "The Heart Breakers".

In his own 'room at the top of the world'.

One of those artists that you keep going back to.

Was only talking about his appearance in the postman today:

Postman: I know you. You're famous

Tom Petty: I was.

My daughter just told me.

Oh fk, Oh hell No. I was just watching 'Swingin'. This minute!

That is really bad news. I have been playing Petty non stop since July 9 when I (am so pleased I didn't miss it) saw them at Hyde Park.

Best band in the world now totally FUBB.
Best lead guitar, best keyboard piano, best drummer, nearly best bass (after Howie died), and harmonica player.

Forget Bowie all the rest, the best front man is now gone.

Dreadful, dreadful news.
I first watched them in March 1980 at Oxford Poly (it's still on YouTube - well, one song Refugee).
RIP really really RIP

Another one of the greatest gone frown

I guess it's one of those things
You can never explain
Like when an angel cries
Like runaway trains
Like one of those times
That's never the same
Like when something dies
Like runaway trains

Damn. I just downloaded his greatest hits the other day and was reminded how good he was. Another really talented songwriter gone. RIP.

The band at their best (and I hate mouth organs)- Last Dance (appropriate!) - at the Isle of Wight 5 years ago.

8 mins of brilliance which the crowd loved.

Imagine this, 6.30 a.m. Nevada, out in the desert, pure blue sky, already warm, windows down, flat straight road ahead as far as we could see, the car is flat out, will not go any faster and 'Runnin down a dream' blaring out as loud as it would go.

Awesome music, made cool times epic!

Sky News saying now it's not confirmed that he has actually had his life support turned off.
Fingers X Tom.

If you want a 'little Tom' above, they were just under a 100$.

Price now? Who knows.
