Yeah, assuming it fits on engine ....
Why are you adding more amps ?? I ask because if you are planning spotlights etc, make sure the existing wiring is in good condition (or perhaps upgrade it to thicker
wires). Otherwise you can get overheating and even fire....
If it IS new lamps etc. Then good idea to wire a new 'subloom' with relays for the heavy current loads, and keep them away from the standard loom. And a nice big thick earth return too....

You might find if you really need 75A that the V belt drive will struggle to drive the alternator at full load.
I'm not sure If my alternator was faulty but it was rated at 75A and I burnt two V-belts out, but that was trying to run the Saxo Power steering pump, plus all the lights and the heater blower...what I can say is fitting a 100A Alternator and multi-v drive has fixed it...


Test's look good, with a DVM connected across the battery it's maintaining 14v even with Heater, Headlights, Driving lights and rad fan running and no more burning rubber !!
I'm not sure If my alternator was faulty but it was rated at 75A and I burnt two V-belts out, but that was trying to run the Saxo Power steering pump, plus all the lights and the heater blower...what I can say is fitting a 100A Alternator and multi-v drive has fixed it...

Thank you, I was going to buy something from JE but I ended up making my own conversion which ended up pretty straightforward and considerably cheaper.
The bottom pulley is the standard SD1 crank damper with the pressed V belt pulley replaced with the equivalent part from a later Serpentine engine (Straightforward bolt on job) as Rover were lazy the crank lines up with the Serp alternator mounted on the SD1 bracket.
The only custom part is the Water pump pulley which I drew up and had machined up and anodised where I work, cost me a fridge pack of Stella
