Cambelt Change - 59 Plate Audi TT
Discussion
Hi all,
Picking up a 59 plate TT in the next couple of todays (2.0 TFSI), full service history but the owner has neglected the cam belt change!
Negotiated this into the price (knocked just shy of 1k off the asking price to account for cam belt and a couple of other bits).
It's currently sat on little over 52,000 miles.
The downside is the car is 180 miles away. Do these belts have a high failure rate, and would I be better off trying to find a garage nearby the collection and getting it sorted before driving home, or is it more of a general recommendation to get it replaced at 50k, and if so I can book it in somewhere locally next week?
I won't hold it against you if you say the latter and it goes on the way home!
Thanks
