Hi there,

Recently my beloved fiat ducato suffered a break in and the morons broke both my front door locks in the attempt!

I have bought 2 new locks to replace but does anyone on here know how the handle can be removed from the outside then how I can change the lock barrels or is this a garage job? Is it a big job to fix???

Cheers ,

Kev

I would guess the handles can only be removed from inside behind the door cards.

As said ,remove door card to access door handle ,once handle is off the door it might be obvious how to get the

barrel out the handle ,maybe a clip holding barrel to handle.

Ours is the same van, Just had a look and its a door card off job by the looks of thing, Can you not gain access through the habitation door and access it that way?

Where did you get the replacements from? I'm tempted as I have 3 different keys and would like 1 smile

New matching locks and barrels can be got from Cak Tanks in Kenilworth and if you chat to the main chappie there, I forget his name, he'll talk you through how to do it. In fact I went there in my M/H over a GasIt issue and he came out and showed me how to do it. I reckon if you phone and tell them the problem and ask if they'll show you how to do it, they'll book you in. Can't promise of course, but I've always found them really helpful. A lot depends on your attitude and how you talk to people - ask nicely and appear a bit stoopid and they help, shout and tell 'em they know nothing and that's what you'll get
