OK PH Massive - augment my research please:

I currently have an old Bose companion 3, which I've had for about 10 years or so. Currently re-doing the office to accommodate the other half, hence taking the opportunity to grandfather some current kit to her and get some new kit for myself. I'm an audiophile so while I'll listen to the hifi if I actually want to do some serious listening, I know I'll just be dissatisfied and critical of my speakers if I don't have a decent set.

In a quandary about PC speakers. Is there a realistic decent actual upgrade for my Bose out there, or should I just stick with it and get her some 2.0 speakers of her own? (she doesn't need a sub).

I have been using a little T-Class amp (A Topping VX2 which has optical, coaxial and USB in so ideal for a PC) along with some JBL Control 1 speakers, all in around £110 at the time.

This is very clear, sounds great although lacking bass so I have treated myself to some Dali Zensor 1s which were immediately better when I tried them in the shop (although yet to try at home as I'm building a office, workshop and Cinebar at present) albeit around 3 times the price of the JBLs. The chap in the shop was amazed by the Topping amp. It's tiny too, around the size of 3 cd cases give or take.

Of all the things I'm doing at the moment, I am most looking forward to setting up the PC and the Topping/Dali combo.
