Time to change mine and my partners PCP cars. Can't believe how hard it is to find what the actual "deal" is.

Current shortlist is a Countryman or Q2 - budget around £1500 dep + 300PCM.

If you go by the mini website, we've no chance. If you go by some of the "group" sites - we can do it with just a 300 dep!

I realise the right answer is just "go speak to the dealer" but it's an absolute pain going through all the rigmarole - the couple I tried wouldn't just straight up say yes or no to whether or not they had anything or could do anything with my budget!

Anyone else found this with other OEMS?

Use the usual suspects for the spec you want - carwow, drivethedeal, orangewheels, coast2coast

At least then you'll know what you should be paying for the car in question

Audi's site has a finance calculator so finding the GFV etc shouldn't be too hard. Options on an Audi don't change the GFV from memory. You can then use pcpcal.co.uk to calculate what your monthly will work out using the discounted price and GFV & rate from Audi's calculator

Not sure if Mini's site does the same, but BMW does, once you build your car on their configurator and click "buy my BMW"

All of the above assumes that you'll at least break even on your current PX. You can adjust your figures for any negative equity you may be carrying

It can be a mine field and the prices that you see on many websites will be based on the RRP of a vehicle and not the discount you may get haggling at the Dealers. If you do change you vehicles at the end of the PCP term it may be worth looking at PCH (leasing). The downside is if there are a lot of options that you want the PCP would be the best route but there are some good PCH deals out there. these are some examples of PCH deals just using the dealers, there may be some better offers through brokers.

I don't know the spec that you are looking for but on this MINI Countryman Cooper S with Chili Pack you can get this for 3 years at £296 a month with £888 initial payment so saves you some cash there on the upfront and this is through a MINI dealer directly.

There does not appear to be any exciting deals on the Q2, demand may well be high on it so no need to support these deals. This one is £260 a month with £1560 upfront and is the basic spec.

Audi Q2 1.0 TFSI SE

The Q3 is probably cheaper with this 1.4TFSI Sline at £258 a month with £1548 upfront.

May not work for what you want but to get in to a new car every 2/ 3 years I would weigh up the cost of a PCP or PCH on the vehicle that you want and take the cheapest over the term.

Thanks for the feedback - makes sense what you are saying. I guess the prices actually in dealer are a bit up and down so would require constant updating etc.

I'm keen for a lease - have been reading the best lease deals site for a while! Trouble is the girlfriend isn't so keen (and it's her car mainly)......

Think I'll try and talk her in to a lease, we've done 4 PCPs now and not once have had any serious equity in the car at the end of it so chances are it would be easier to just run a lease!

Cheers

Alex

Well then you will know that you could get a Golf R with that budget at the right time wink

The Mini deal actually looks pretty good for the top spec one so may be an easier sell to the OH. if you know the benefits of both then at least you can get the best deal that works for your circumstances.
