Hi,

You lot all seem very friendly, so looking for opinions here... =0)

Essentially I have aproximatley 6K to spend on a car and iwant to go donw the kit car route but buying already built, so second hand cars.

Problem is this will be my first kit car and am a little undecided - always loved the "7" look cars ( particularly the Tiger) but recently been smitten by the Fisher Fury but just are not that many about...

So, what would you go for..... car is going to be used just on the road and not bike engined ( not that I could afford that anyway!) and may have to do some winter running on occasion?

Come, help me spend my hard earned (borrowed!!!) cash!!

Cheers!

Gareth

Gareth - 6k should buy you a decent car in the used market. Your'll get a Tiger Super6 for that kind of budget or an earlier Westie. Best bet is to invest a couple of quid in a magazine like Which Kit and browse the classified. At this time of year bargains are to be had.

Paul.

You should be able to find a nice Phoenix or Fury for a little more than that. Or a nice Striker or Pinto/X-flow Westie for that sort of money.

I chose mine from buying several magazines and looking at reviews etc. I know this is going to sound like an advert but I also found it useful to go to the Kit-car show to see the cars in the flesh. There is one at Donnington this weekend (14/15th). Hope that helps.

Edit : with that many spelling mistakes its a wonder it would have helped anyone

Smeagol's right, get to the shows and see what you get for the money. 6K will get a dam good car, but for that sort of money you may be looking at, (if there is such a thing),a less mainstream KC manufacturer's product. Again no advert intended but look at Stuart taylors cars or the MK Indy etc.

Brian.
PS Donington!!!! best show of the year - Be there.

Gareth

If you want a one-off Lotus Seven Series One copy, that is clad in aluminium, has none of the normal lousy bushes, and is fitted with a fully rebuilt engine and gearbox send me a mail. I'll return you the full spec + photos.
