VW Bora - Interference engine?

Hi all

I have a 2005 VW Bora 1.6L (Petrol). Just wondering if anyone could shed any light as to whether the engine is an Interefrence engine?

The mileage is now 100,000, I bought the car when it had 72000 and I’m not sure if the vehicle had a cambelt replacement with the previous owner.

Yes it does. How do I know? Had a golf with the same engine when the belt prematurely snapped.

Pistons met valves. It got expensive.
