A quick tally indicates that I am getting 22/23mpg as an average out of my W140 - seems pretty good to me. What are other getting?

You could be achieving 35mpg in an utterly miserable tiny hatchback.

What price parsimony?

The C140 looks better with every passing year. Smaller too.
