German VR6 featuring a French Tin Can
Discussion
Two separate cars though... I'm not that adventurous!
First up, the R32.
Purchased completely standard and have added the following:
Bilstein B14's
ITG Panel Filter
Supersprint 'Race' Exhaust
It has been remapped to 265.1bhp / 264.9ft/lb and drives very well, the coilovers are a great upgrade. Not overly quick by any means but very linear power delivery and a great soundtrack... she does like a drink though!

Aforementioned soundtrack / obligatory drive by vid (not sure why it looks like it was filmed using a potato, it wasn't): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AuB8Y6kBnA
Next up the French Tin Can... will not be to everyone's taste I'm sure!
MK2 Saxo VTS
Supersprint 4-2-1 & centre pipe
Supersprint 2" backbox
S1 106 Rallye Gearbox (70 at 4k RPM in 5th
)
285mm Hi-spec 4 pots
Eibach springs
H&R Trak+ spacers front and rear
and so on
Have owned this for almost 10 years and can't bring myself to sell it. It is currently SORN. I need to find the motivation to fit a cage and some lightweight wheels and take it on track. Such fun cars to drive and hardly any left now.
Despite the bad reputation they have, apart from some very minor differences they are the same car as the 106 GTi which will go down as a classic I'm sure.

I but it's just a shame the V6 is fairly limited with tuning potential. 300-330HP
I love the Saxo...!
I guess it depends on your view of fairly limited. With bolt on supercharger kits producing 300-400 hp, turbo kits that run significantly more, with deep pockets you can build 1000+hp vr6 lumps. I love the Saxo...!
R32 looks fantastic! I'm a fast golf fan, currently running a MK7 R and previously ran a R32 3 door DPB DSG. Mine was mapped too. As you you say, not lightening quick but a great GT car and certainly enough performance to have fun. Enjoy!
Also had a Saxo (VTR) as my first car, taught me lots about lift off oversteer!
Hers's R.
And my old R32.

Thanks all for the kind words, appreciate the love for the Saxo
Agree with the comments - would have been great if the R32 was supercharged as standard, many people take this route for extra power whilst maintaining reliability.
