Anyone waiting for a build date for a C63S Estate ?
Anyone know how long you have to wait? Ordered One May 2017 and still not even a build date given.
Need more engine builders I fear ,in Affalterbach me thinks .

What's the spec? That sounds like an incredibly long wait to me. Has the dealer given any justification for the delay?

I have tried MB in Milton Keynes as well ,their HQ team cannot give me any information about even a future build date.
Not sure whether to wait it out , or choose a different brand .

That's pretty poor treatment. I ordered in September and have a late October build for a November delivery. Though I think mine was an existing slot the dealer had...

Communications from MB is piss poor regardless of the level you contact them at. Managing customer expectations is an entirely alien concept to all at MB.

I'd love to have something positive to say but my own experience tells me otherwise.

I tried customer services at MK a guy who is called Ross Stevenson .I also tried email Rob Holloway their UK Marketing guy.
All without success.
If your car is built you should be able to get the VIN number and can track its route .
That is if they have built it!
I think there are too many models using the 4ltr now, and they are even giving them to Aston Martin for their next model......they just don’t tell you the truth about the delays.
If only I could get a 550 Estate😩

Ross Stevenson actually works at a customer service centre in the Netherlands I believe. He is unable to help on delivery times.

So my dealer got back to me just now and I've been given a build date in December and delivery in second week of January. No apologies or explanation of course. Thanks MB. mad

OK scratch that, they got back to me just now and said I am back on for mid-November delivery. Obviously happy to hear but doesn't exactly inspire confidence!

Glad to hear it's not just me. Our new Magno Selenite C63s arrived with a scratch on the bumper, the dealer in their wisdom decided polishing it out was an appropriate fix, which obviously led to a shiny bumper on a matte car. I rejected it and have now ordered an Audi.

Aren’t you better off pushing back til March, for an 18 plate? I know it’s a long wait though!! I ordered the C63 estate today! Been told no problem for a March delivery, but now you’ve got me wondering!!

We all seem to be unsure of the truth . Not a good place for the AMG brand to be in . Great PR does not translate to good customer experience here .

If you go on a mercedes forum you can get a bit more from insiders. This seems tô be a Mercedes thing. They publish lists of availability for options and engines to ordering teams and you have to push anyone helpful at the dealership to get these.

There's always a lack of this engine, it's in everything with a 63 badge. It is helping support second hand prices though (for good spec cars at least).

Last year HUD had a huge delay. I got lucky and got the last of the units, otherwise it would have meant another 2 month delay. Also carbon and black ash trim often have supply issues.

I picked up an unallocated coupe order in august, due end September. Arrived late October.

Only thing I'd say is it's worth the wait. Sublime car.

I tried black ash trim then carbon trim. Both added several months to the build so they got skipped. Also magno selenite grey would have added several months delay so I compromised on that too. If delivery is delayed anywhere near approaching the gulf in time that adding those options would have, I'll be seriously miffed.

Dealers don’t ever mention delays due to option configuration. Bits of trim are just push on parts , hardly difficult to source and do not add to time on the line.
Maybe the wait for 1000ash trim Cars to come through together to stop confusing the robots.we are talking about C class Cars built in their thousands .Not a Pagani .

Tell that to Mercedes. I'm just repeating what I was told and have been told by multiple folks who have placed or attempted to place orders for C63's of varying configurations! wink

I've seen the lists first hand. It's the "Just in time" German build philosophy. Some options have different colour fill blocks on them, for which indicate extended lead times due to shortage of supply or greater demand. New forms are distributed to ordering teams every 1-2 weeks.
Often suppliers deliver each option piece in bulk. HUD is popular but production is limited, so they get say 100 units, they allocate to a 100 cars, then anyone else who wants one has to wait another few months to be allocated it to the build slot. Their build slot gets pushed back, and the production line is filled with a car which doesn't need it.

You rarely seen new C63s with all the desirable options as people will sacrifice options to get the car sooner.

It's nothing to do with prestige, it's just demand / supply.

That's bit of a delay, makes me think too many people are ordering AMGs (says he wink ) .Good cars generally, but perhaps MB's push for sales is now starting to bite them. AMGs were, at one time, fairly 'exclusive' cars; now it seems that everbody has one. A bit like the previousy prestigious 3-series?

A 550 estate would be good. It's a shame that MB and BMW UK don't offer the same versions as on mainland Europe; I was with a Dutch friend a while ago and admiring his 550D estate, very nice car but when I looked, not available in the UK. Likewise many of the X-drives, athough that seems to have changed now.
