Looking at SIM only deals currently, that on the whole look pretty good. The carry data over option seems popular too.

Any opinions on the best / cheapest, with good customer service too? It's nice to have someone to call when something goes wrong...

I have a good deal at the moment with three. It's called a 3 essential plan. Not sure if it's a loyalty thing. 30gb data, ultd calls and texts. 15 per month. Some benefits not included, like tethering. Apart from that it's brilliant

I guess it boils down to how many minutes/data/texts you require?

Tesco Mobile? They're an MVNO on O2's infrastructure (so decent coverage in most places). I've used them for the last 4 years or so for both my phone and hers, always found their customer service very good and they're dirt cheap as well.

Quick look at their SIM only page shows £15pm for 8GB/3000 mins, £20pm for 20GB/5000 mins.

BT have some great deals, and it's basically EE. You get a discount if you have BT broadband.

Vodafone do 20GB for £20 pm. Take out via quidco and you'll get an additional £60.

What you need to do is get your self onto google, trawl all the mobile sites and build up a spreadsheet and work out the costs and make sure you pout the phone purchase price in there. If you want a decent data allowance and a top end phone you will be surprised how close they are. It also depends on how long you want to keep each phone. There is some argument that keeping them a year is a good idea as you will loose less when it comes to trade in.

I've just been working this out on a Samsung S8+. The big savings weren't there frown

However, BT's multi SIM deals look to be very good. Me and OH will be moving away from Vodafone to BT when our contracts are up in Jan 2019.

THREE also had some good deals, I'm just not sure about the network.

GiffGaff. No phone number to call when it tits up!

Thats a pretty stonking deal from BT, and if its EE's network it work great for me, as EE's deals have been pretty poor to be honest!

EE do that deal for the same price on their website. £21.00 for 20GB. Go via quidco and get £50 cash back.

Vodafone is slightly cheaper. £20 for 20GB and more cashback via quidco at £60.

Thread resurrection.

What is the best/cheapest SIM, 1GB data - or thereabouts, 200 odd minutes, 100 texts a month?
