Are we becoming a world of snitches?
Discussion
I was going to put a country of snitches but on Autosport website was just reading about the drivers briefing after grand prix where this was said,
Grosjean: "After the chequered flag are we allowed to undo the belts?"
Whiting: "No. Any further?"
Grosjean: "Well I think Lewis has been doing it quite a lot."
Whiting: "Loosening them is reasonable, rather than taking them off completely."
Grosjean: "I'm just asking, I think it's great for the fans, but I wanted to mention it."
Whiting: "At the speeds Lewis was driving at, I think that's a perfectly reasonable thing to do. Loosen them, not undo them."
Felipe Massa: "But you cannot loosen them. It's very difficult, you need to take it off."
Whiting: "I was asked a question and I said, no, you should not undo them, but if you can loosen them off, I don't see a big issue with that. Lewis, what do you do, do you loosen them or undo them?"
Hamilton: "Undo them. I don't do it very often. Montreal I did, a few other races
Now to me that sounds like Grosjean snitching/grassing up Lewis.
Now being in my 40’s i think i was raised in an era when folk stuck up for each other etc, but now at work it seems bosses want a snitch culture where you are encouraged to grass up your work mates for the slightest thing and people thinking if I grass up folk I move up the ladder.
To me its not a nice culture whereby you do not trust anyone and if that is what it takes to get promotion then I would rather stay at the bottom knowing i am a trustworthy honest person rather than someone who will become a slimy reptile just to kiss ass!
I know the F1 thing above may not be best example but its what got my mind thinking.

The F1 just reminded me of the fact but i was more leaning towards work especially with regards to health and safety.
I mean when you are young you are taught to have common sense then as soon as you get older you are basically told common sense is not allowed and some manager will tell you what you can and cant do, you sre simply not allowed to use common sense.

By the way "snitches" is playground talk.
He couldn’t use
s!F1 risks being complacent. It's not that long since Bianchi died. Lewis can keep his seat belts on until parc fermé.
The way so many people are willing to reveal so much about themselves through social media - we won't need snitches.
Also, governments are gradually demanding that we conduct all our affairs with them through electronic means - so that means they are getting more and more information about us so, again, no need for snitches.

Why is raising a concern about another driver's safety snitching?
I'm sure he was also hinting that if it's unsafe to undo your seatbelt after a race, then it's slightly more unsafe to jump on the side of an open wheeled car when there's a perfectly useable 5 door road car parked just behind it waiting to take you back, no matter which badge is on it.
I wasn't talking about the race. That's completely inconsequential. I was talking about life in general. I know what HMRC and government agencies want from us in the next few years and I do not like it., And it's nothing to do with conspiracies. It's based on the details announced by said government agencies.

Sadly, common sense in some people actually equates outright stupidity. You need to be able to analyse situations and use your training and company policies to ensure you keep yourself safe but as important you keep your team or peers safe.
It's a bulls
t view held by construction and heavy industry that common sense means cutting corners and not following sensible practices or rule put in place to keep employees safe... In the scenario it's a bit of both.
