E46 M3 Silverstone v Standard Car
Discussion
hi, I’m in the market for an E46 M3 manual - should have pushed the button years ago, but I had other itches to scratch. Values for good, full history cars with 70-80,000 miles appear to be around the £14,000 Mark. I’ve seen a Silverstone edition at a dealer for £15,999. It’s a stunning looking car, and I like the rarity factor with the fact that only 50 were built (half of which were manuals).
I’m interested in general opinion, is the consensus that they are worth a premium over and above an E46 M3? The car is to be enjoyed as a weekender, but as a long term purchase I do have an eye to longer term value increase as well. I guess a special edition (albeit trim and paint) will be worth a little bit more than an equivalent standard car.....

The irony is that for prices to really increase, good examples need to be really scarce at which point you may well find that all colours have only a few good examples remaining and thus having an individual colour which would have stood out "from the crowd" some years ago is actually far less meaningful.
it's a nice colour , I hope you get it and it brings you many happy weekend

I’m still looking around at the moment - there are some nice cars around and my preferred is dark grey or black with red interior. I’ve seen the Silverstone car and I was interested in opinions from M3 owners. Thanks for yours it's a nice colour , I hope you get it and it brings you many happy weekend
