Hi,

First post!

I'm looking to form a LTD company and have been looking at the formation company's that advertise on the net where they do all the work to form the company, you get a London address to use as the registered address for the company and the director.
The mail forwarding subscription is free for a year apart from the Royal Mail cost of sending on your post.

I have absolutely no experience of this and want to use a reputable company, so wondered if anybody could give any recommendations of advice.

Thanks, Paul.

I've used Stanley Davis in the past. Jordans are also a well established company formation outfit.

The Registered Office of a company can be changed at any time.

Companies Made Simple are cheap and fast.

Also used Registered Address in the past but they’re a bit more expensive now and their process isn’t as slick.

No comment on the all in one type companies, as I have never used one, but don't be nervous of setting up yourself. If you have a good accountant on hand (they will have seen it done many times, and can help you understand your obligations), and are prepared to put in a little work to understand what you need to do, it is not difficult (Unless of course you want all the extras that the others seem to offer).

I used Company Wizard (.co.uk website by the same name) when I set up mine and also paid for their registered office service which is some place on Kensington High St in London. Just had to send them a copy of my DL and it was done within an hour. I did have an argument with them some months later over mail not being forwarded which they claimed was an additional cost (not mentioned on their site at the time) but we came to an agreement that they'd send HMRC stuff FOC but if I wanted other junk forwarding I'd have to pay. Been with them about 5 years now and no further issues with mail forwarding but their registered office service keeps creeping up in price irked.

This, takes about 30 minutes to do.

I don't know how easy it is direct with Companies House but it's only £3 less than using many of the formation agents (like the one I mentioned above, who I have no connection with apart from being a customer) and that process couldn't possibly be simpler.

Thanks guys and sorry for the late reply.

I went with Companies Made Simple in the end, they were really helpful and easy to deal with.
