996 turbo steering wheel of centre after indicator stock fix
Discussion
My 996 Turbo failed it's MOT a few months ago due to the indicator stock not cancelling. I bought a new one and got my local garage to re-MOT it once they had replaced the stock. I don't drive it much but last time out noticed the wheel was of centre. Called the garage today to be told it's not like an old car with a spline and needs the wheel alignment done to resolve it. Is this right? Just watched a Boxter wheel replacement on Youtube and it had a spline. Don't think he's trying to do me over but think the boss may be getting duff information from his mechanic.
Sounds like they are making excuses for their work and would imagine if you booked it in for an alignment check they would just take the steering wheel off and centre it!
If they say that they did take it off then I would be wary about adjusting anything underneath to offset them putting the steering wheel back on pissed!
Looks like it does have splines from pics as had to refresh my memory.
