Anyone any ideas on what to get as a 30th gift to myself, budget about £2,000, have a Sub so don't want another watch.

Really would like something that I can pass on to the little one, but also enjoy in the meantime!

Watching with interest, I always struggle with this kind of stuff.

Only thing I've spent decent money on for myself is a pushbike.

Thought about a nice watch, but then every time I look I just think of all the holidays, experiences, days out and meals I could have for that

I recently had this quandary.

Instead of something material (as nice as it would have been) I went on a solo road trip and created some memories for myself.

Flight in something amazingly special? I flew in the Spitfire a couple of years ago and I don't think anything will top it!

Thanks for suggestions so far!

DSLR is not a bad call, any suggestions as to best model or other advice?

Portrait good idea but more of a present for my wife smile

Don't smoke and got a Mont Blanc pen last year, maybe I could start!

Spitfire would be incredible but I really want something tangible.

I knew this would be difficult!

Way cheaper than £2000, but you should buy and build an old skool Tamiya car; like the Hornet or Vanessa's Lunchbox.

How about a nice clock?

I think the Jaeger-Le Coultre Atmos is interesting enough to qualify as a potential heirloom and £2k would get you a reasonable one from somewhere like Gutlin

Commission a piece of art. Can be anything you want, automotive, portrait, whatever.

But it will be a one off, and I'd say a great heirloom.

Sites like the one below allow you to create a brief then artists put in their bids for the commission. I reckon the whole process would be a lot of fun.
