Alternator Belt.......
Discussion
I'm having a problem sourcing a belt for my Serp engine Griff (without A/C).
My local auto factors can only obtain 1855 or 1843mm length belts whilst the correct length should be 1850mm.
TVR Parts do have the part but at a whopping £25.00 (postage being the killer).
Can anyone supply me with the make of the correct 1850mm belt?
Thanks.

I tend to download manufacturer PDF catalogues and obtain a 'personalised' part number from within. These part numbers are usually formed of width/type/length anyway. This way you can specify to whatever suits you and your car (ie. not looking up by car make/model, but by width/type/length). Gates would be my first call. You can then obtain a Gates part number from the catalogue.
Pop that part number into eBay and bob's your uncle. I have even been pleasantly suprised popping part numbers into Amazon.
An agricultural supplies outlet (for example Ibbetts nr. St Neots, or Ernest Doe) have these very catalogues under the counter. They are used for sourcing unknown belts from mowers, plant etc.
In fact, owning a TVR, an agricultural supplies outlet should be on speed dial (stainless Jubilee clips, Gates fuel line off the reel etc...)

I have contacted all my local parts suppliers but no one can obtain an 1850 belt as they only deal with Gates and Dayco. They can get close but not 1850.
Thanks for the Racetech link but I really wanted to avoid the high postage charge.
However I have found this and it's on the way................ http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ALTERNATOR-DRIVE-BELT-7-...
Thanks for all the help.
