Hi all,

Wanted to know if anyone could help with servicing some Technic 1200's

I am from Birmingham so not sure if there is something local to me or if i have to travel/send them away then i don't mind.

Quick google search is showing prices from £55 a unit - £125 a unit.. is that good or expensive?

Had them, about 10 years now and have been sitting in the loft for 6 ! want to get them sorted so i can start playing again at home or to sell on in decent nick.

All help appreciated !

Is there a reason why you want them serviced? My pair are 20 years old (mark 2s) and still run as sweet as a nut. All I've had to do is renew cartridges.

It's 'Technics" BTW

If i remember right i don't think they was running well when i stopped using them and have been in the loft collecting dust for that long too.

was just a thought is it worth doing if i want to get them back down to use again.

Matthews in Digbeth used to do 1210 servicing I believe. No mention of it on their website now so best to give them a call

do let us know your findings. I also have a set of 1210s that have been in the loft for several years in the birmingham area due to a beer spillage.

£75.00 a unit, includes new lead outs and can internally ground the earth cable if you wish too.

48hr turn around, seemed reasonable and they still do it

cheers - that sounds very reasonable to me. the value of 1200's has shot up in recent years too
