I have my current GT3 and await the new one

But I have had my 9934S for 16 years now

Gave it a treat this year - full full service + front end respray + detailed

Had it out today and was driving thinking that I would have this any day over my GT3 etc

Just a great car and hard to believe that its now 20 years old

As a society and as individuals, we are conditioned to want the things we dont have

Instead, we should learn to appreciate what we do have

Agree with what V8SKN says, and also that, as true petrolheads, it is only right and understandable that certain bits of machinery get under our skin and become far, far greater to us than the sum of their parts or mere book values.

Never driven a 993 S but I think it may be my favourite looking Porsche (without the Turbo body kit a lot have).

The wide body 993 just looks so much wider than the standard car, probable more so than any other generation. Lovely looking beasts.

I also have a 993 4S and collecting my new GT3 Friday so I will let you know if I agree. Thing is nothing beats the air-cooled for character and just the right level of performance for the road.

My old 996 GT3 had the edge for the ultimate adrenaline rush but the 4S was usually the more enjoyable drive. Just so charismatic and satisfying.

When are you getting the new GT3? Be interesting to compare notes. Take it you're going for manual

Surely you can't consider yourself a real Porsche enthusiast unless you have an 'air cooled' 911 in the garage?

Or, if not, at least at the top of your wish list!

Agree - or at least have experienced the air cooled thing : IMHO It’s important/Interesting to understand where today’s cars have evolved from - nothing better than mixing an old air cooled drive with a modern GT3 - great fun smile

My GT3 is PDK as to me it suits the car for my purpose

The 9934s just makes me smile every time
Even after so many years
Every time I walk up to and think - this is a real car
And I've had so many positive comments

Great cars.
The NB isn't bad looking either with its wide hips.

Tbh I had it 2 yrs, loved it, but it wasn't bought as a long termer as I like to try different cars.
Values soared, and with an eye on that plus keeping the mileage down I sold up and took a nice profit, which helps the pain lol.

Beautiful solidly built cars, great drive, great sound.

Also spend my life trying to find a Mk2 Golf 16v in Oak Green to buy

I had several and miss that more than most cars I have had

Old school again !

There isn’t a 993 variant that I don’t like.

C2/C4 narrow body, C2S, C4S, Turbo/S, RS, GT2; I even like the Targa! Such a beautiful design.
