Hi all,

I've just finished a 2 year lease on a fiesta black edition, other than a kerbed wheel and a few other light scratches (to the lacquer) the cars pretty much as new, the guy who came to collect it filled out a report based upon his visual inspection and said all the marks would be classed as fair wear and tear (2 years/30K miles).

I had to sign the report on his tablet, and I then received an email with photos of the various stone chips/light scratches however the report states scratches down to primer which they clearly are not.

Subsequently I've now received an email from Arval to say they have received the report and will be providing a bill for the repairs, I haven't received this yet but any good bodyshop probably wouldn't even bother given age and mileage, but the report states scratches to primer...

How should I play this assuming the worst?

1 You shouldn’t have signed it if it wasn’t true. Too late now, but there you go.
Do the pictures show primer?

How much are you being asked for?

The tablet just showed the photos not a description, and the guy said it was normal wear and tear, if I’d have seen the text I wouldn’t have signed obviously.

You can appeal against these charges.
Can you see primer in the pictures?

Was it a BCA inspection?

I read a lot of poor slimey efforts from Arval on here (and legalbeagles forum) .

Did you take a picture of the scratches?

The report I received includes photos which most show light scratches clearly not down to primer
