S54 Tappet noise

Hi,

I'm dreading the answer to this. My Zed started ticking today loud enough to hear from within the car. I've had it 8 years and it's never made this noise so I'm in a bit of a panic.

Car is on 91k and has a FBMWSH.

This noise is apparent at low revs but not there at tick over. Any ideas?

When is the last time it had an oil change, and more importantly an Inspection II with valve adjustment?

Have the cam cover removed and inspect the cams and rockers for wear, S54's suffer from this.
