Is Cleanliness Really Next to Godliness?????

Hey Everyone;
I'm back after brief time having clutch seals done, it was so much fun driving home without a clutch, having to stall the car at roundabouts, crossings etc seemed to be a great source of amusement to the growing queue of traffic behind me. They cheer and applaud you as growl past them but they're so bloody smug when you breakdown!! My public are just so fickle!!
Anyway the reason for this post - Am I the only one that doesn't avidly clean and polish my P&J? As I seem to be getting it in the neck from fellow drivers who-won't-go-above-30moh-for-fear-of-stone-chips-or-getting-their-cars-dirty!!! and even Dream Machines put the boot in yesterday!!
So how often do you wash yours? (no rude replies
How do you clean yours?
And did I join an exclusive club that had a rulebook on cleaning when I bought my car??????

Washed weekly, polished monthly...


but it has more stone chips in it than you can count!

Only gets cleaned if there is a chance that we might have a week with no rain, otherwise it stays dirty cos whats the point!! As for stone chips.... well mine was immaculate when i bought it now it looks like a white spotted dalmation, but the amount i expect to spend on the car a few hundred quid for a front end respray pails in significance so i drive it how i like and wash it when the sun shines

The worst thing about washing it, is everytime you do it, you find a dozen or more new stone chips!!

Mine had none when I bought it as it had just had the headlight conversion and front end done.
Only had it for 9 months and it needs a front end sparay already.

like my women, and my undercrackers, i like to keep mine dirty. but in fairness, a medical condition promotes one of them and a lack of taste promotes one of the others.

I know I did mine yesterday - well I got my kitchen porter to do it - and I've got a cracked headlight - so just gonna keep things dirty from now on - just soooo much more fun! and cheaper - ignorance is such bliss!!

Maybe the thick layer of muck will cusion the blow of the stones and therefore no chips or cracks!!??
But then if you never wash it how will you know how affective this method is!!?? then if you do wash it and find it has worked a treat you now have an unprotected car...... Hmmmmmmm

nice one geeeezer a clean car.
Robs doesnt get dirty so quickly as puddles dont splash up at 30mph in second, plus all those explosions from his rear pipes evaporate water faster than it splashes the car.

Yikes! I think in a whole year I may have cleaned my car maybe 6 or 7 times .

And the thing is I love my car but it's all about the driving to me .

Really enjoy cleaning it when I do but it's an inclination/procrastination thing I guess .

Never use a carwash though.

robs car doesnt get dirty, you should know that. dirty cars are the result of pressing the loud pedal on the right. from what i hear, Robs one is still untouched. and his pedal.

Last time I washed it was sometime in 2004. November or December maybe just before going on a blat which got it all manky again.
I'll give it a wipe after it gets serviced maybe but definately before the summer.

looks like I hold the record then. Ive had the car 2 1/2 years and I think i havre cleaned it twice-but it spends most of its life at the garage and they clean it for me-very nice man. Anyway brown is the new black

i love cleaning it, and yes i know i have some kind
of medical problem, but if i see a nice car or bike
i like to see it at its best, not covered in s--t.

Hey Trevor, I think both you and Rob should seek some medical help, they're not right these urges you know and without trying to be sexist - oh perish the thought - some would say you are just more in touch with your feminine side - now I know Rob has been known to cross-dress at the weekends and sometimes blames his heels for driving so slow but I can't say this of you........so what happened????
