My wife used to laugh at me for being obsessed about trying to not share personal details, shredding paperwork etc.

The job I am on at the moment has a site labourer who is never off his phone at break time, he uses the little ear phones and sits there talking ste which some of us find very irritating, but this week just took the biscuit.

The brain dead moron was on his third call, he was paying his phone bill, as I was half way through the crossword I had pen in hand and wrote down his name, address, email, second and third numbers of his passcode, his card security number, account number and sort code.

My mother didn't have a maiden name. Couldn't afford one.

Not the same but MRS400's mate popped round night and she asked if we d had the email off HMRC regarding them giving money back?

We both looked at each other awaiting the next comment, thinking she d just banged her card details in as they ask.

But she sat there and said I don't think ill bother as it takes up time.

I carefully filled her In on the scam as such an her face was a picture.

Too easy to find out and if it's something you use everywhere you're more open to issues if someone knows it.

Think as you should with passwords basically.

Would agree with this.

Friend at uni was similar, only really changed his mind when mysteriously... someone got into his email and had some fun. silly

It's fascinating how people give up some details and think thats it, without realising what else can be found out about them! Address / who they bank with / partner details / their employment details (lists of their customers can be a gold mine). Facebook is useful too. So easy.

ETA: A good one can be to use the mothers maiden name question, but with a different name to her actual name. Just use a sensible one, especially for any firms where you may have to call their call centre! hehe

What an utter plum. I'm guessing now his details have been circulated, his next bank statement will show multiple payments to porno sites wink

One could have a lot of fun with this. In all fairness though and on a serious note, someone does need to have a quiet word with him and highlight the dangers. After then, it's up to him as to how careful he wishes to be in the future.

Still no harm in hiring a lambo for a weekend on his account details though. Gotta have some fun...

At school, we'd reverse surnames for a laugh. The best was a boy named Shufflebottom.
Backwards, his name made him sound like a top flight philosopher.
Harken to the words of Mottobelffuhs.
