OK, I should know this.

At least, I know that you have to have Cir-PLs on autofocus systems.

What's the worst that can happen???

I got a linear one, by my own pure, unassisted stupidity of trusting the blurb on ebay and not looking at the photo which blatantly shows it for what it is. It's for the 180mm - it hasn't had the benefit of a PL for the last eight years that I've had the lens - and will only be out for occasional play.....

Anyway it seems to work.......

So any brilliant minds on this topic can come forward and tell me "I told you so" now.....

I think the problem was that some AF sytems are foxed by them. But if yours focuses and meters reliably, I don't see a problem....
