As Much Room As E70 X5 But Not SUV??

Looked at a lovely 2010 pre LCI X5 which seemed to have acres of room inside and a massive boot which for our family jack would be ideal.

Nice spec, colour combo etc however I am not sure I can swallow the costs associated with running a big heavy SUV, particularly in diesel.

I wondered if there was perhaps an estate on the market which offered the same rear seat space and boot capacity but in a regular car format as oppose to big heavy SUV?

Initially thought A6 Avant or Superb but never seen one in real life so not sure???

R Class/E Class/5 Series/A6 Estates all have as much room as an X5.

Thanks bud, really not a lover of the R Class but E is possibility, 5 series is nice but AWD is a real bonus where we live so think RWD could be a non starter.

I guess E class is RWD too?

Tempted by an A6 Quattro estate possibly.

The Superb is vast inside. I had a trip in the back of a Superb taxi, I was surprised how big it was.

I know what you mean about the R Class but the later facelift model is much much better (it would be hard not to be) than the first model, also in L Spec space is never really going to be an issue & they're also AWD.

An estate is never going to give you the same room as a big SUV because of the lower roof line.

The only thing that will that isn't a SUV is an MPV.

In fact they will be bigger because there's no need for all that 4WD and higher ride height.

It's not all doom and gloom getting an MPV, there are some excellent choices.
