Having got sick of ebay and paypal fees I've started selling on here and TBH doing pretty well.

Sold a car, games console, and electronics all quickly, cash in bank and posted. no fees price slightly more than ebay and lots of messages etc all in the last few weeks.

Bought a Playstation on there, sold a sofa bed...

Works well for the kind of tat you can get everywhere that people wouldn't travel for, but want to pick up cheaply.

Not so good for specialist gear.

I've had good luck buying at good prices locally. Only tried selling once, and got some bloke offering me half asking on something that was already cheap. I took a few quid off, he wouldn't deal. I guess that's everywhere though,

My only major gripe with it, is due to the larger number of council-esque types and chances on there, you get repeatedly lowballed with stupid offers.

I've sold a few bits and bobs on there, and applaud the lack of fees, but wading through the pms of insulting offers or weird swaps is a bit time consuming.

That's exactly why I've never used it. I'm also somewhat suspicious that some of my friends are just putting stuff there to 'show off' PH-stylee. Well except with high mileage Audi diesels in cloth trim instead of Aston Martins.

I love some of the st people offer on there.

  • SELLER: "For Sale: 2007 Transit Connect - £1,500ono"
  • POTENTIAL BUYER: "£250, Xbox One with 3 games, Trampauline, quad bike and a £50 Amazon Gift Card"
  • SELLER: "What games?"
  • SELLER: "**SOLD**"
hehe

It's awash with nicked stuff and fake rolexes. I'd sell on it, but never buy.

Was trying to sell one of my gfs tiffany & co necklaces on there (on her behalf!), it was silver and i knew it had a market value of around £100.

The number of £50 offers from wannabe posh single mums was laughable.

Actually gave up after 3 or 4 weeks and stuck it on ebay in the end, sold for £110.
