After years of insisting on three pedals and BMW trying to sell me a slush box car, I`ve surrendered. And its not a BMW, merely a Golf R DSG which suits my advancing years. I had a torrid time-wasting saga selling my Mr2 toy on this site which put me off. My question is,whats the best place to sell a car and avoid time wasters?

What is a time waster for you? Someone who is asking questions?

WBAC. They'll offer you peanuts.

The more serious alternative, if the car is a really nice one, is to try selling it SOR through one of the better known classic specialists - 4 Star, KGF or whoever. They'll take a cut of the sale fee, obviously, but it's almost completely no hassle to you.

Or take a look at Anglia Car Auctions. Their (quarterly?) classic auctions seem to attract a good crowd and cars appear to sell for strong money.

On a car like this you just have to accept you'll get lots of questions from people scattered all over the country and it might take a while to sell.

GLWS etc etc.
