yeah, saw that one this morning too. Want to hazard a guess how much MG would be? Plus you've got to wonder as all of the MG cars are re-engineered Rover ones (or Qvale Mangustas 
). Where would they get their cars from? Can't see them being worth that much unless some sort of Rover car deal was included.

MG Rover needs (according to the news) £6.5 million a week to keep going (pay salaries) but is also losing £20m and £25m every month. I don't think Nikolai has that kind of money himself.
Only a consortium, government buyout (nationalisation - final nail in the coffin type company) or closing it down are the only possible options. Most likely the last as not only does Rover make huge loses but they have no new cars which would cost millions more to develop and manufacturer.
But if TVR (by some amazing quirke of financial jiggery-pokery) should buy Rover....at least the build quality would improve

I doubt he'd pitch in, I dont think TVR is turning the way he expected in the timelines he expected... and I'm sure his advisors would warn against it. Its one thing buying a company which has its own niche-cult-muscle-car-market, but buying a 'regular' car company is a different ball game altogether, if theres a consortium, he might take interest in one part... but a complete buy-out? I dont think so... from a business point-of-view, its a dead duck... has been for a while.... sadly. Unless the government changed the rules for foreign car manufacturer taxes... which would help our own businesses a fair bit... but I doubt that happening, people are happy with other makes, Rover lost it after the K'series me thinks... all IMO of course.
