Slipknot

Thanks to the joys of amazon prime and Apple Music I’ve just really got into Slipknot.
At 51 should I grow up?

Certainly not. I'm the same age as you and have been listening to Slipknot and nu metal for quite some time now. Bizarrely though recently I found a calling to reggae and find myself playing an awful lot at the moment. No doubt it's only a matter of time before I return to Public Service Broadcasting, The Clash, New Model Army, Marilyn Manson, Slayer, The Isley Brothers, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Stiff Little Fingers, Blink 182, The Who and Frank Turner. Go figure :-)

Very similar musical tastes to me. I went through a very big obsession with PSB earlier this year and was particularly annoyed when I discovered I’d missed them debuting their Race for Space album at the National Space centre which is just up the road from me!
I do think Reggae is a step to far though (although I saw Dread Zeppelin back in the 90#s and they were very “interesting”

If you're liking Slipknot, it might also be worth having a listen to Combichrist - excellent band.

Incidentally, my 14 yr old son told me off last night for playing such “violent music to loud”

Haha, I think I was about 14 when I went to my first ever concert, Slipknot in Glasgow in the early/mid 00s.

My first gig too, March 2000 with Kittie as support. 16 years old.

Still my most listened to band.

Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat is probably my favorite album by Slipknot, its actually their 1996 demo featuring Anders Colsefini on vocals.

However their 1995 4 song demo (Knot for human consumption) has just been leaked online, 2 of the songs are off M.F.K.R but 2 aren't.

I love how raw the 2 albums sound.
