Mine doesn't and its the cause of many occasional arguments.

My reasoning is I like a degree of privacy even if I have nothing to hide, also I use to earn a lot more but choose not to now as I wanted less responsibility/stress. I feel if my partner knew she would either pester me to earn more or even encourage me to spend more than I do now, as she herself can be quite frivolous with money.

Anyone else?

Quite.

My wife knows how much I earn but I prefer not to tell my girlfriend,

Partner as in relatively new girlfriend or partner as in wife/long term partner?

If the former, money may not have cropped up

However if the latter and you feel the need to hide it, that’s a massive problem IMO

I couldn't tell you how much I earn... but women have a funny way of knowing things so maybe I'll ask.

My wife does. And she was my girlfriend when we were at uni together so she's always known. Plus we also have a joint account so I've hardly got much chance to hide it. hehe

As others have said, if I had a girlfriend of a few months right now, no chance in case she was a gold digger

Been married 30 years not got a clue what she earns, she has no idea what I earn. What does it matter?
And no we don't just put up with each other, she's my favourite person, we have a great time together and are happy.
If she was to ask I'd tell her and vice versa.
All I know is she earns considerably more than me now but didn't a while back.

Funny as neither my mrs or I know what I earn. I could guess and would be correct to +/-10k

I keep meaning to go thru my accounts and work it out, average over last twelve months but never get around to it.

My earnings differ month to month and i simply move what i need as an when from Company to Personal. The only consistent earning is my minimum wage each month.

My mrs however knows what i have in my main account but i have some other bits of cash held elsewhere.

No joint account but i too her up regularly as we guess I earn a fair bit more than her

Nope. And neither do I. I could find out but I have no idea what I made last year. It doesn’t matter to me.

So what do you put on your tax return? Presumably not "don't know"?
