Would paintwork put you off?

So I'm currently searching for an e92 M3, and have really got my heart set on a Monte Carlo edition model.
I'm going to view one at the weekend that almost has the exact spec I want, its only missing out on a non-base spec speaker setup but that's really the lowest priority behind all the other stuff it has.
Thing is, it's had a door painted at some point. The seller has been honest about it, it was prior to his ownership and it hasn't been written off or anything like that. But for some reason it's bothering me. I know that even if I go to view it and can't tell that it's been painted, I'll still always know that its had that done.
Am I being stupid? This will be the most expensive car I've ever purchased so naturally I'm apprehensive.
Would anyone rule it out on the fact that it has had this done alone, or reserve judgment until after viewing? (I don't know which door it is btw, so I can have an impartial view!)

If the work has been done to a high standard, the window goes up and down smoothly, and the door card doesn't rattle, it really wouldn't bother me.
It would only bother me if the work done had impacted upon the appearance or function of the vehicle.
All this "but I know it's been done" business is a bit daft.
Put it this way, have all your girlfriends been virgins? If not, does it keep you awake at night worrying that "someone else got there first?"

Well I would rather buy a car that looks mint than one which needs lots of paintwork repairs. I think every car I have sold has had panels repainted, clear-coat repairs or dents removed. 
If the seller has mentioned it, and even better if they have a receipt from a good repair shop, then it would a plus.

It is 8 years old with 3 keepers including the current one after all, its bound to have received some wear and tear. Plus the market is only small, theres about 120 of these in the UK so I can only go on what there is for sale at the mo.
