It's winter - best car jump starter?
Discussion
Amazon is currently selling the Battery jump starter pack (400A)
This seems like a good deal for £27.99 Does anyone have experience with this unit, or similar? Is it worth paying extra for a good quality one, or are they all the same? Thanks in advance!

Looks interesting, I was after one a while back that was charged by USB like that, that way you don't have to carry a specific cableThis seems like a good deal for £27.99 Does anyone have experience with this unit, or similar? These look to have come down in price in the domestic market since I bought mine early this year so you might get something better priced locally but I opted for this one after a little research on youtube.
I bought it as I'd just bought a car I wanted to take on a tour of France I didn't fancy my chances getting a jump start especially as the batter is hidden in the passenger foot-well.
A few weeks ago after not using my car for a few weeks I had cause to test it for the first time. I'd not charged it since I bought it 6 months or more before and it started the car, 4.6 8cyl, with little effort twice.
To make future starting easier I'm thinking of buying one of these to permanently fix to the battery and also be able to use with a battery conditioner over winter.
edit to add, link is for a Chinese site, I've had no issues buying from them but just thought you should know.

I don't really need a portable one, so I just use a old spare battery kept on a conditioner and a pair of jump leads. Crude, but effective, if you're more worried about cold morning starts only, rather than being stranded out somewhere.
Of course, you can put it in the boot and lug it around, but it's a bit of a lump!
