Hi guys,

I have NTL connection at home and have just purchased a Netgear DG834G. Stupidly, I never checked if this will work with my router.

I have NTL modem. It has a ethernet and usb connection at the back.

Is it possile to connect the NTL modem to the netgear and get wireless internet access. I have the necesary wireless adapters but am not sure if I am able to use the netgear with my NTL cable connection.

I ran a support place and they said I couldnt but I read some posts on hear and some people say it is possible

Many thanks

Because the netgear is itself a modem then infact you should be able to get rid of the NTL modem altogether.

Plug the netgear into your PC and the manuals should tell you where to go to setup the ADSL username and password stuff, which you should have been given by NTL.

Now you can simply swap the phone line out of the NTL modem and into the netgear and you should be good to go!

Not on NTL cable you won't.

That Netgear box requires an ADSL line - it won't work on an NTL cable line.

try and get a refund on the product and get a Netgear WGR614v5 instead - that is the correct router to go with your cable modem
