Hi all,

Wife working at a small co that is VAT registered. If she gets a card for a wholesaler type place, like Makro etc and pays with her business credit card, would she still pay VAT at the till, then reclaim through accounting, or do you buy vat free?

Assume its the former but wanted to check.

Cheers

Paul

VAT works by the customer paying the full VAT inclusive cost.

If the customer is a VAT registered trader, then they will reclaim the VAT they paid on their costs by submitting the claim as part of their VAT returns.

Ha - I was wondering what would happen with that fairly outrageous post by the so called accounts service. If anybody made a note of their site and intends to follow, be aware it is giving incorrect advice on who needs to register for VAT.
