Any heavy industry contract engineers out there

I am currently working on a project that is analysing 17 global oil and gas industry market segments looking at future supply and demand; one specific area is basic engineering covering conceptual and FEED type projects in the onshore/offshore and civil engineering sectors.

For me to ascertain demand and supply issues in the future I will be reviewing contract rates for engineers as in essences rates/demand increases will offer an indication of market trends. This will be benchmarked against other data to develop an overview of any skill shortages, regional demand and specific segment demand.

If you are in an engineering CONTRACT position that is involved in the market segments below it would be appreciated if you could offer an indication of the following:

1. What region are you in
2. What segment/s does your organisation cover
3. What is your discipline
4. What is your day rate (A range would be fine if you do not wish to offer an exact figure or email me off line)
5. Over the past 3 years has your day rate increased/decreased
6. Your current project lifespan
7. Your perception of future demand for contract engineers
8. Has your organisation had difficulty acquiring engineers
9. Movement of personnel in/out of the company
