I've got a PS4 which I've had since launch.

For a while now it's been getting slow especially around Spotify, Netflix and Amazon TV which tbh is what I use it for mostly nowadays.

Anyway I've deleted all the old content which I just was never going to touch as I thought it might be a storage issue.... So goodbye GTA, COD, GT5 etc....

No postive affect on performance but I was still able to play BF1 so all is not lost.

However last night I was playing this free multiplayer horde type game with a mate who came round..... My goodness at points it was down what felt like 10fps.

Is there anything I can do? Im loathed to completely reset my box but would do it.

The other option is with one of my two controllers on its way out and as these are the best part of £35 to £50 am I better off getting a new system completely....

I can't help feeling that the reality is Sony is pushing so much media content nowadays all boxes suffer the same and I'd be spending £200+ and not seeing much different.

If it helps I have 100mb broadband and it's fairly consistent so it's not that.

Couldn't that be down to internet speed over anything?

You might get some return from rebuilding the database on the PS4, if you’ve never done it before.

Ok I'll look into that (haha what I mean is I'll Google it)

Is anyone elses a bit slow and clunky nowadays?

The performance is akin to putting the latest OS onto a iPhone 6... It works.... but isn't as snappy as it use to be.

It’s easy, built in feature. Also, make sure you have the most recent software version.

But in truth you need to be more specific about your issues because, on the face of it, network speed is your issue.

Maybe swapping the HD out for a cheap reasonably priced SSD might help things; easy job to do (plenty of vids on youtube about it.
