Car door will not open
Discussion
Hi Folks
I own a 5 door Seat Ibiza 2008. Yesterday, I discovered that the back door on the passenger side does not open from outside, although it opens as normal from the inside.
Could someone be kind enough to tell me how to rectify this problem?
Can I take it to any car garage or shall I take it to a Seat dealer?
Would it be expensive to resolve?
Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

I had a similar problem on my honda and it turned out to be a £2 fix with a spring. Maybe it is something similar on your car? I made a video about my repair:

Guessing they are the same as VW doors sound like the cable has become loose or detached from the handle pull if you look on youtube vw door not open from outside and there is a couple of vids on how they work. you can then check if yours has popped out or slipped.
not a big job to fix.

Fix it quick!
If you dont fix it asap then your doomed when the internal lock stops working (which it will very soon) The fix is having to smash the door lock from inside the car, after much pain getting access to the lock mech. No you wont be able to get it open any other way.
The lock will deadlock itself, you can't access the lock mech with the door locked, or the bolts, it wont open by any means. Its a very common issue on all the VAG cars of the same era.
I've just fixed my wifes Passat, thankfully a Chinese made lock is £16 on ebay.
