Hi All,
I just had my circumcision on Friday, on a general anesthetic. Took some codeine based painkillers (although I wasn't in any real pain).

However, now I am constipated (no BM since Thursday). I've tried prunes, prune juice, lots of water (including warm), movicil, fibrogel, and senna. Cut out the fibrogel as it is a bulking agent and I may have bowel impaction. I can feel the need to defecate and there is something in my rectum, but it's just too hard to pass.

Looking to call gp tomorrow and maybe get suppositories. Worried though. Any suggestions? Also had fruit and I am not smoking, drinking or eating any processed foods.

Thanks!

How long between BMs for you? I see dulcolax suppositories exist, hopefully my gp prescribes me that!

Senokot is available from chemists and is another laxative a hospital might supply you with after morphine/codeine.

Get a damn good curry from the dodgiest curry house in town. If the spice doesn’t shift it the food poisoning will.

For what good they'll do you, you may as well stick them up your arse.

Castor oil,not too much mind, you do want to stop stting at some point.
It used to keep aviators and motorists regular in the early days.
This is supposed to be a motoring forum so I am suprised no one has mentioned it yet.

Getting circumcised gives you constipation?

Are you sure they chopped the right bit off?

Codeine makes you constipated. Picolax is also way overrated.

Stick your finger up there hehe
