I’m being given a discovery for a few days this week and was wondering if it’s possible to play DVDs in the nav? My BMW has the function as std.

Knowing I’ll be sitting for quite some time in it I want something to entertain and can’t guarantee internet connection.

I don’t know if it will be a 4 or 5 and what spec it will be.

Doesn't work in my FFRR, not in the Nav DVD player.

I'd have thought it depends on what car you get?

Thanks - I did wonder, the BMWs with nav will all do it (after about 2011 I think)

I'm able to play DVDs in my Discovery V it's a 64 plate SE Tech, but it will stop playing them once you are on the move.

That’s good news. I’ll stick a wallet of discs in then. We’ll be sitting for at least 5 hours at a time, so won’t be worried about the movement thing. The BMW is the same unless you ‘crack’ it with coding.

mad ....we were given an SE. Didn't have nav.

The Landmark went to another crew laugh

Anyway, deeply disappointed with the thing, I so much wanted to like it as I'd nearly bought one a couple of years ago.

22k (judging by the state of it, very hard) miles and it went into limp mode with a 'DPF full' error message. The BT audio kept dropping the connection, so had to use a cable and even then it didn't re-connect.

I couldn't get comfortable in the driving seat, the lack of adjustability and flat cushions meant numb bum on more than one occasion.
