Rivals? Mini Cooper JCW vs BMW Z4M Roadster
Discussion
I appreciate that on paper, these cars seem quite different.
They are both "harder" versions of already sporty cars and both now the same price or within a couple of thousand pounds of each other I wonder if they're worth considering head to head?
I'm finding that I'm in that position. I started out looking for a JCW, but now I'm looking at Z4M as they're within the £15,000 budget I'd thought of.
Neither would be used for track days, but both would be used for some spirited drives as well as the daily stuff. Mini has 4 seats but the Z4M goes topless!
The Z4M seems the obvious choice as more car for the money, but are the running costs x-times higher?

Not a big fan of the Mini at all.
One of the Seniors in the office bought a JCW for his wife & it really wasnt what he was expecting.
Death rattle cost us £1200 & that was after a contribution from BMW.
Had to replace the water pump at a low mileage too.
There were other problems early in its (very) sheltered life. God knows what a `ragged` example would be like!
Happy to say that our company no longer has any Mini or BMW products on the car list.
Z4 would seem the obvious choice to me........ You never know, it may well increase in value too.
Can`t see that happening with a Mini.

Totally different cars as im sure your aware!
Ive got a N18 JCW Clubman as a commuter its great fun, cheap to run does 42mpg on my 20 mile round trip, is genuinly fun to drive.
A Z4m will cost double to run i would think, tax and fuel economy and servicing isnt cheap inspection 2 around £800? but will hold is value so you could write the running cost of against that i suppose!
